ISLAMIC STUDIES

At As-Subah we strive to provide the perfect environment for children to develop and strengthen their character and morals. Although the nurturing of a child essentially starts at home, we aim to reinforce this very important stage in every child's life by providing a supporting role to families and reinforcing good values and good character.

We hope to instil a sincere love for Islam within all the children who are entrusted to us and nurture within them the traits of a truly respectful and dignified Muslim. These children will one day grow up and become representatives of the Islamic ethos and ultimately be a leading example for others while enjoining righteousness, spreading peace and upholding justice.

The curriculum is based on the Islamiyya Islamic Studies series which is perfect for the development of children to gradually learn, understand and practise the teachings of Islam.

QUR'AN & TAJWEED

A primary requirement for a Muslim child is to become familiarised with the Book of Allah - the Qur’an. At As-Subah Madrasa, we aim to guide each child through their journey of learning how to recite correctly while also helping them establish a lifelong attachment to the Qur'an.

We have formed a structured class with three levels to ensure steady progression within the curriculum.

  • Level One: focuses on confidently learning the Arabic alphabet and correct pronounciation of all the letters, then progressing to joining lettersl to form words and sentences.

  • Level Two: focuses on the theory and practical application of Tajwid with ample practise while also improving fluency.

  • Level Three: focuses on completing recitation of the Qur'an under the supervision of a qualified teacher as well as completing memorisation of the 30th juz/para.

Our aim is to teach young children how to recite the Qur’an correctly as it should be with Tajwid and have them memorise a selection of Surahs which they can recite in Salah.

  • Parents will be required to purchase the books required for the child's studies.

  • Each class has a maximum of 13 students per class ensuring every student is given the due care and attention they deserve to be able to progress.
